What is the Value of Your Blog? This One is $0
Check it out! This blog that you are reading right now is Worth $0. Hey you want to buy it? Just kidding its not For Sale. But really all this work that I put into the blog and some fancy software program spits back a value of $0. How can some software program throw out a number without even knowing all the work that I put into my blog. Honestly though I don’t take it to heart. These website evaluators are fun, but thats all I use them for a little fun and games.
Really though what makes a website valueable? Is it Alexa Traffic Rank, Google Page Rank, Yahoo Rank? Or is it number of Visitors Per Day? How many Inlinks? How many Outlinks? How many words on a page? How many pages of words? How fast you can type? How late you stay up typing a post? What is it really?
Well honestly if you ask the question “What is my Blog Worth?” or “What is the Value of My Blog” to 10 different people you will probably get 10 different answers. One of the simplest ways I have read on how to calculate the value of your blog is to take your blogs monthly earnings and multiply it by 12. This gives a annual earning for your blog and you should never sell it for less than annual earnings. Sure this is a very ruff estimate and really you might want to add to that number a bit based on the number of daily visitors, Alexa Ranking and Google Page Rank, inlinks and outlinks, but it is an estimate. When you really think about it though what is the real value of anything anyways. The real value is really what someone is willing to pay for it. Ok I know what you are thinking this information is coming from a guy who has a blog that is Worth $0, but what do you want for free advice
Honestly though I hope that you do get something out of this blog even if it is a laugh. Well anyways, there are many many websites out there that will calculate the value of your blog. I listed a few below. Have fun checking out the value of your blog. More than likely it is worth more than mine.

Hey Jim,
Great little post. Not sure where mine stands but I’ll have to consider checking it out.
Keep plugging away… I’m sure you’ll shoot way above zero in the very near future.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob
Those sites are kinda funny. At one of those sites my site is valued at over $6k which well would be nice, but I am not sure how true it is. Hey maybe someday it will be worth that much, but I am ok with zero. I figure it can only go up from there

I’ve kind of tried some of them but their discrepancy from one another are somewhat high. Anyway,we should focus on building our blog no matter we have zero in value (at least for the time being).

So true Walter. Those sites are all over the place. I am going to focus on quality content not the value. Focus on content and the value will come.

Hey Jim
The question is if it was making you money would you want to sell it. I know that I wouldn’t.

Hey I should have stopped with the first one. That one said $3600. It was all downhill from there. Hey it was fun playing though.

I have a Google alert set up to see when they find new links to my site. I was here yesterday and Google tells me today that several of those sites you listed created a do follow link when I checked my site with them. Pretty cool huh?

Thats cool! Actually Ned I have a Do Follow plugin installed. One of my friends had suggested I install it so I did as it seemed like a good thing to do. I wonder it thats why.
