Mystery Google?

diceOk this doesn’t have much to do with blogging, but I was reading the other day about this thing that Google has created called Mystery Google. Well I thought I would give it a try.

So what is Mystery Google?

Well it looks kinda like the regular old Google site, but it is dark and mysterious. What you do is you type a search as you would normally do into the Mystery Google search engine box. Then what happens when you hit enter is supposedly you get search results from other Mystery Google users. Interesting……..

Ok so what is Mystery Google good for?

Well honestly I have no clue. Its a mystery! After about a couple of searches I was trying to figure out the point of this and honestly I am not sure. I mean really you type something in and something else comes up.

Well if you are looking for something random to do roll the Mystery Google Dice and see what you come up with.

If you really want to find something on the Internet and you don’t want to waste time try out good old Google. It works real well to find the stuff you want on the Internet.

That’s so funny, Jim. I was playing with mystery google the other night. Odd sorta fella it is. Didn’t make much sense to me. Anyway, the reason I dropped by was to thank you for sharing the info about google trends. I just downloaded the widget to my desktop. So cool!!! It seems elderberry juice is quite popular this evening:) Thanks again…

Louise yeah I dont get it, but maybe I am missing something. There is probably some kinda trick to mystery google. Or maybe if you enter the right search you unlock some sort of code or maybe the key to life. Well who knows……

I am glad you like google trends and found the post helpful!

  3. I didn’t know about Mystery google. Thanks Jim for sharing this.

Mystery Google: Get not what you searched for, but what the person before you searched for.

I’ve used it but, as you said, I don’t understand why should we need to know what other people searched before we did.
Google has always great and fresh ideas.

I owe my heartfelt thanks to Google, because I’ve learned a lot using it and, above all, it helps us to share with the world our thoughts and passions.

    Regards Jim :)

Google does give us a lot and they sure do come up with interesting things. There is probably some mystery you can solve with this thing. Maybe its like those records in the 70s where when you play them backwards there was a mystery message. Ok maybe thats a stretch, but who knows.

You are right google is does help us get our thoughts out to the rest of the world

Hi Jim… I have never seen MysteryGoogle.com before. I do not believe they are related to Google in anyway… are they? I did a whois search and I am pretty sure it is not an actual Google service.

Looking at the site more… if you do a “view source code” it looks like a simple Google searchbox with some non-Google ads on the page, so I am pretty positive that is not a Google site, and I can not find anywhere online where Google says that it is their site… but a lot of people seem to think it is.

I could be wrong though :)

Hey Doug! Wow maybe I have been fooled. I guess originally I had seen it on someone elses blog and read about it. Tried it a few times and from what I read it seemed like people were saying it was a google site. But maybe it isn’t. Its a mystery! Maybe its a black hole.

google mystery just takes whatever you type in and randomly sends it to some other person’s search. anything you type in will be seen by someone else and vice versa.

  12. Interesting concept. But I’d be honest that the poor placement of the huge Chitika ads somehow gives me an impression of carelessness and lust for money. I dunno. With a little more professionalism, it should be big ;-)
