The Wizard of Googlle

Google-11th-birthday-logo-doodleI am sure most of you know that Google has turned 11. Well Happy Birthday Googlle! They are certainly my search engine of choice.

How about this though. Not only is Googlle 11, but The Wizard of Oz is 70 years old. Now that is something to Celebrate. I can remember watching this movie on TV when I was a kid. I remember it seemed to come on once a year and when it did I just couldn’t wait to watch it. Those monkeys always scared me. Well know they are releasing this out on BluRay.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to step back in time to 1939 and tell someone that someday this movie The Wizard of Oz will be released on BluRay and get this there will be this thing called the Internet where everyone in the world will be able to connect with each other. Where you can create a blog and talk to people around the world.

Things have really changed in 70 years.

  1. Interesting post. But I’m slightly confused. You sure are referring to Google but I’m troubled by “GoogLLe”. Surely I’m missing a logic or something. As for wizard of oz, I remember my childhood days ;)

    Hi Liane
Google was 11 yesterday and if you went to google they changed there logo for the day. It looked like the picture in this post.

Wizard of Oz was something we watched like once a year because it seem to come on only once a year. Now in this new day and age we can buy the dvd and watch it everyday.

  2. Hi Jim,

Great to meet you. Thanks for taking the time to remind me of the importance of participation. Particularly like the idea of keeping a simple journal of activity…see if it makes a difference.

    Talk again.

    Hi Andy!
Thanks for stopping by. I have found just a simple journal will do. It helps me to remember what I did cause a lot of times I cannot remember what I did the day before.

Thanks again for dropping by :)

I do remember watching Wizard of Oz once a year, and it was so magical. I don’t think people even 20 years ago would have imagined the way we live these days with the internet available to everyone, etc.

You are so right things have changed so quickly. When I watched the Wizard of Oz I don’t think we even had a VCR to tape it and that wasn’t that long ago. Now I don’t even use my VCR anymore. There is TIVO to tape things. The internet I don’t think I could live without it.

  4. Changes in 70 years, man, things have changed drastically in the last 10 or so! Lol.

As for the Google/Googlle and all that good stuff, when they first came out, I think “Google” was spelled in a variety of ways. On top of that, I think they realized that people kept spelling it wrong when they typed it into the web browser… I think? lol
