Associated Content Articles
There are many ways to generate traffic as I explained in one of my posts on how to drive traffic to your blog. Another way to generate traffic to to your blog is to write articles. Two of the biggest sites to submit articles are Associated Content and Ezine Articles. It is free to submit articles and not only will you be able to drive more traffic to your blog, but you can make money depending on how many views you get out of the article. Submitting an article is easy. Basically all you have to do is go to Associated Content and Ezine Articles sign up for free and create your profile. Once you create a profile you can begin writing articles and submitting them to these sites.
Have I submitted an Article?
Yes I have submitted an article to Associated Content and Ezine Articles. It wasn’t an article on Blogging it was actually an article about Risk Mangement. You can check it out at the link below.
Risk Managment Applying a Plan to your Company
Have I seen traffic to my blog from the Article?
Yes, I have seen traffic due to the article. Not too much, but I have. If I had more time to submit articles I think it would be a good way to generate even more traffic to my blog.
Have I made any money from the articles?
Well no. At my last check I had 106 views of my article on Risk Management that is on Associated Content. With that amout of views it actually shows an estimated payment (wait are you sitting down) of a whopping $0.16. Hey I can’t retire or even buy a candy bar, but it is something. Seriously though if you write more articles and they get views you can probably get some nice money on the side.
Oh another thing if you have writers block and cannot think of something to write an article about Associated Content has this section called Assignment Desk that has a number of subjects that you can choose from to write an article.
Does anyone else submit articles? Where to you submit your articles?

Hey Jim,
Great info on the Associated Content. I’ve heard about the site from a couple of friends, but never really knew exactly what it could do for traffic, and eventually revenue.
I’m always looking for additional ways to generate traffic, but it all comes down to how much time we have to create new content. It might be time to get some extra helping hands on oDesk or Elance!
Take care,
Joe

Actually Jim,
Writing an article for something like ezine articles makes me nervous as crap.
Sorry, I’ve always had a hard time with trying to do something I’ve never done before.
But when I’m ready I’m going to ask for your help.
Thanks man,
Rob

Yes I wasn’t to sure about writing articles and posting them on Associated Content or Ezine Aricles. I had heard it was a way to bring traffic and potentially make money. I have only posted one article. I just wanted to see how it worked. Actually by checking google I do see some traffic from the article. This article though was something I had done for work and really has nothing to do with blogging, but I thought I would give it a try.@Joe Fier

For now, I am not interested in submitting my articles to directories because I want to put all my work on my website to grow it. My productivity is limited so I can’t write articles for different websites yet.

I have to say I haven’t seen good backlinks from ezine. I have seen pretty good results with Associated Content. I think if I published more articles I would probably see better results.

@ Jim Hardin

I followed your page for a little while… I like this them better btw…
In regards to your article the downside is that every time someone reads that article(in time could be many thousands of people)their site gets the fan base.
Have you looked into stumbleupon.com at all? It’s a way for you to increase traffic for you and others in your social network.

You know I have heard of stumbleupon. I haven’t tried it yet..but I think I am going to give it a try.

Hi Jim,
Nice to meet you here!
IMHO writing articles for Associated Content and Ezine Articles or whoever else is selling your brain for nothing. If you have a gift to write, but don’t know how to set up a blog, outsource! It’s not big deal.
